Scott Weiss, M.D., M.S.Scott T. Weiss, M.D., M.S. is the Scientific Director of Partners HealthCare Center for Personalized Genetic Medicine. In this capacity he leads over 100 faculty and staff in PCPGM's CLIA-certified Laboratory for Molecular Medicine; its research core laboratories; the Partners biobanking initiative known as the Partners Biorepository for Medical Discovery (PBMD); and educational programs for healthcare providers, investigators and the public. Dr. Weiss also serves as Associate Director, Channing Laboratory. He was recruited as a faculty member to the Center in 2001. He took on the role of Interim Scientific Director in 2008 and became the full-time Scientific Director in 2009. Sandy Aronson, A.L.M., M.A.Sandy Aronson is the Executive Director of IT of the Partners HealthCare Center for Personalized Genetic Medicine (PCPGM). He was recruited to the Center in 2003. The PCPGM IT team develops IT infrastructure required to support the evolution and practice of genetic based personalized medicine in both patient facing and laboratory settings. The team has developed an integrated personalized medicine architecture that includes the GIGPAD system that supports laboratories generating genetic data and the GeneInsight Suite which facilitates clinical interpretation of these data and provides treating clinicians with a mechanism for managing patient genetic test results. Alfred A. Blum, Jr.Al Blum is the Chief Development Officer for the Center. Al was recruited to the Center in 2004, bringing over 40 years of fundraising experience in higher education and academic medicine. He oversees all fundraising from private sources for PCPGM, including corporate sponsorship of Center programs. Al also staffs the PCPGM’s Genetics Advisory Council and manages the Center’s annual William K. Bowes, Jr. Award in Medical Genetics. Vance Morgan, Ph.D., MBAVance Morgan is the Director of Laboratory Operations for the Center. Vance has extensive experience in academic and biotechnology industry research settings and was recruited to the Center in 2002. He oversees laboratory operations for the Center, including the DNA Sequencing, Genotyping, BioSample Services, and Microarray Facilities, which support genetics research throughout the Partners HealthCare System and beyond. Heidi Rehm, Ph.D., FACMGHeidi Rehm was recruited in 2001 to build the Laboratory for Molecular Medicine at PCPGM and now serves as its Laboratory Director. She is a board-certified clinical molecular geneticist and Assistant Professor of Pathology at Harvard Medical School with appointments at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital and Children’s Hospital Boston. Her undergraduate degree is from Middlebury College, her graduate degree in Genetics is from Harvard University and her postdoctoral and fellowship training was at Harvard Medical School. Heidi has served as the Director of the ABMG Clinical Molecular Genetics Training Program at Harvard Medical School since 2006. In addition to running the LMM and the molecular training program, she also conducts research in hearing loss, Usher syndrome, cardiomyopathy and the use of IT in enabling personalized medicine. Meini Sumbada ShinMeini Sumbada Shin is the Administrative Director for the Partners HealthCare Center for Personalized Genetic Medicine. She acts as Chief of Staff to the Center's Scientific Director and oversees the financial, human resources, and adminstrative activities for the Center.
